Rowan Edwards is an Oakland, Bay Area based fashion designer whose career took an interesting path.

He began pursuing his interest in the arts while attending art school. Artists Beuys, Judd, Hess, and Puryear were his influences. It was at this time that the sculptural avant garde fashion talents of Miyake, Kawakubo, and Yamamoto caught his eye.

Rowan’s love of materials inspired work in sculpted furniture, installations, and eventually, founding a high-end, architectural and design-based, residential construction company. No matter the medium, his eye for design and details has determined the outcome.

Frustrated that he could not find men's shoes that aligned with his unique aesthetic, Rowan began designing his own. Self-taught, he creates unique, hand-made, shoes, apparel, and accessories, influenced by the hides and fabrics, that echo his belief in rare materials, intended craftsmanship, and his refusal to follow the herd.

While new to fashion, Rowan has honed his unique gift for creating hand crafted shoes, apparel and accessories that transcend trend. His style reflects the physical rigor required to wrest fashion from rugged materials, combined with the emotional and ephemeral, achieved with his delicate attention to detail.
